Do men take pictures of their food for Instagram, how often do they eat desserts; is it true that girls being alone prefer filling food, what kind of smoothie athletes like, how to make a proposal using sushi set? What for the visitors of Prospekt Shopping Mall are ready to give up home-made dumplings and borshch?
Weekend asked chefs, directors, baristas and waiters of catering facilites with Ukrainian, European, Italian, Pan-Asian, Japanese and Chinese cuisines about the habits of their guests, unusual orders and favorite customers.

City-Zen cafe

- The English word “citizen” has a special meaning: “city” is a big noisy city, “Zen” is a harmony in this city. This is a place where you can give up noise and problems, experience Zen drinking a cup of coffee, calm down, work and have a tasty meal.

In our interior we have a lot of figures of cats. There is a myth that once Buddha meditated for a long time, but could not experience Zen. When he was desperate and was about to stop meditating, a cat sat down on his knees, got comfortable and fell asleep. Thanks to the sleeping cat Buddha experienced Zen. We believe that our cat also helps people to wait a little, calm down and relax. 

I have been working in the network for four years, the last six months I work in Prospekt shopping mall and I really like it: it’s safe, comfortable, it seems that everyone knows each other.

Here we have European and Asian cuisine; we adhere to the principles of healthy nutrition. The cafe has a main menu and seasonal novelties constantly appear. We also offer vegetarian dishes. Our guests especially like our teriiaki chicken. 

We focuse on coffee: we fry grains in our own roaster and offer to choose a richer or a softer taste. Our recent novelty is colour cappuccino, the guests really like it. The most popular drinks are classic cappuccino, flatwhite, smoothie.

Guests like our desserts, especially cheesecakes. The most popular is, perhaps, Irish-coffee cheesecake. The children's menu contains five positions intended for small visitors: a soup, a dish with chicken, a burger. As for the drinks, we offer cocoa with marshmallows, shake.

People come to us not only to eat, but also to relax and chat. Regular customers choose a quiet place where no one distracts them from work. We have guests who organize noisy holidays, and those who conduct business meetings. Popular bloggers organize fan meetings here.
Latterly, Oleh Sobchuk, a vocalist of S.K.A.I. group visits us. It is especially touching when people choose our café for dates. Once a visitor came with flowers, he was very nervous and the girls-waiters quickly realized that he has appointed the first date to a girl. All together we decided that he needed our help! We tried to create the most romantic atmosphere, presented a smoothie from our cafe. In general, the date turned out to be successful.
Many guests come with children - we have a special corner for children's entertainment and activities. Recently our regular visitors came again, our waiters are very friendly and open to children, and adore these madcaps.
