Are rolled up trousers and bare ankles still in fashion? Do we need a hat to feel warm or to make our moms calm? Why suede shoes are intended for princesses only? Is a dark jacket a necessity or a way not to stand out? Do itchy sweaters have a right to exist? The Weekend asked visitors of Prospekt shopping mall about the rules of their winter wardrobe.

Vika is a student. When choosing winter clothing she often relies on her mother’s opinion,
“So that my mother does not worry about me, I buy a down jacket “European winter”, because it is warm. It is also important that a jacket can be washed easily. When it is warm in winter, I don’t need to wear a hat, but my mom doesn’t support me. Not to upset her, I always wear a hat when I visit her,” the girl says.

However, when it is cold in the city, Vika prefers to dress warmly and practically:

“If you have to walk a long distance from a subway station to your home or office, high-heeled shoes will not work. I also never roll up jeans - you can go blue with cold acting this way.”
