Is it possible to draw a city and its inhabitants in a few minutes, do subway passengers and sellers on the market like being painted, how is Kyiv’s mood reflected in laconic sketches, and when a picture can reconcile friends?

Prospekt shopping mall invited 13 sketchers on the eve of the Artist's Day to find out how they highlight the key points, and remain free being alone with the city and with themselves. Urban sketching is a world movement of artists who make quick city sketches from nature. This is not an outdated cartoon genre and not a carefully traced portrait or landscape, but sketches that record time and place, telling a story.

- I have been drawing every day for several years, earlier I have been drawing for 10 years from time to time. It helps me to forget about everyday life, routine, giving an opportunity to look at the world in a different way. When you paint the streets you walk every day, they look entirely different. I did not learn to draw, I have a degree in banking and I have been working in the bank for a long time. Once I decided to take part in a marathon where I had to draw every day. And this was the beginning. 
Sketching for me is a genre, which is consistent with my dynamic character, I have to move constantly and it is impossible for me to draw the same picture for three hours. But 10 sketches in half an hour - this is exactly what I like! Most of all I like to draw in a cafe, it’s nice there and you don’t depend on the weather. I enjoy drawing in parks in summer. I earn money by drawing, but not by sketching. Sketching is my hobby. But definitely one can make money on sketching.
Sometimes people I draw are outraged. Once a woman said, “Why are you painting me? There is nothing special about me.” I draw in almost all regional centers of Ukraine and everywhere people are more or less friendly. I draw wherever I am, I can't live without drawing.
