19-08-2016

It is almost a year that a special Fashion Point is placed in Prospekt shopping mall, where visitors can talk to a professional stylist, learn about seasonal novelties and ask their questions. The leading expert of Fashion Point project most often to be met on the spot is stylist-imagemaker Yulia Martynova. Thanks to her advices, Prospekt visitors had an opportunity to indentify one’s colour type and pick up the suitable clothes and makeup colours, perfect one’s style and choose the most suitable designs. And the most important thing is that all comers created a new image together with Yulia, a more showy and stylish one. Considering the fact that 85% of a personality is appearance, it is logical that a new look has imparted new internal tunings and even new life stands to the visitors of Prospekt mall. Here is an exclusive interview with Yulia Martynova about changing attitudes towards fashion and style.

Yulia, you’ve been collaborating with Prospekt shopping mall for a long time already. Have you noticed any progress in awareness as to the fashionable trends among your Fashion Point visitors?
Certainly yes. There are loyal Prospekt customers who come round quite often. Many visitors demonstrate distinct changes for the better. There are even some experiment-ready people who have changed their style completely. Anyway, we are constantly asked for advice as to improving one’s look and right renewal of a wardrobe.

What are the most inveterate prejudices in realm of fashion and beauty that you have to overcome?
It seems that many people think that bright means beautiful, that is why they put on all their best things at once. And distort the harmony in this way. There are certain rules in choice of an outfit, colour matches, correspondence of details and accessories. That is why here, in Fashion Point, we share our secrets to help Prospekt visitors to showcase their strong points and look harmoniously but not of the common type.

What does fashion and style mean to you?
Fashion is current tendencies of a certain period. Whereas style reflects the personality through clothes. To look stylish does not necessarily mean to be dressed to the fashion. Important is that the clothes must fit the figure, proportions, colours and tell something about its owner. Our time provides innumerable possibilities to showcase ones individuality by using different accessories and extraordinary models.

You site displays a wonderful statement: 85% of a personality is appearance, 10% is non-verbal speech and 5% is what one says. What is your main advice how to perfect all the three constituents at once?
It is essential not to stand still and go on self-extending, nurturing one’s health, keeping fit, taking good care of oneself, improving one’s enunciation and manners. Of course, it is not easy, but it is of utmost importance that self-perfection should become your philosophy. Then the results won’t be a long time. A beautiful girl is not only a groomed and stylish girl, but also one who speaks correctly, has sound ideas and positive energy. When everything is in tune, a girl is able to produce a strong favourable impression on others.

How do you think, what is the place of a shopping mall in a modern person’s big city life?
A mall helps to save time, participate in actions and make all necessary purchases in one place where there is a wide choice of brands, designs and offers.

How are new fashion ideas born, in your opinion? Where is the modern woman to look up to, in order to look smart every day?
One can scan fashion magazines, follow fashion blogs, watch films to observe stylistic decisions, listen to classic or British music, and, as a must, visit stores distributing clothes from world-known designers. And more, converse with professional stylists. Because live communication inspires one to make daring decisions.

Forgive my boldness, are you a shopaholic? How do you choose clothes?
Indeed, once I used to be a bad shopaholic. But I am very considerate in buying things. I buy clothes that become my colour and figure types, suit my style and offer good quality for moderate prices. I am an opponent of unchecked consumerism.

Tell us please what are the main trends of Autumn-Winter 2016 season?
I’ll name you some of them: midi length, suede leather, men-like suit (like Garson), khaki colour, military coat, bulky footwear, wide heels, animalistic print in outerwear. But the latest fashion trends are to be taken with consideration. That is why Prospekt visitors have a unique opportunity to talk to a stylist at Fashion Point and learn on one’s own experience what fashion trend one can employ in one’s individual style.

What do you want to wish to Prospekt visitors?
I wish everybody to appreciate adequately one’s possibilities, love oneself and be self-confident. And not to be afraid of experiments and embrace changes. It is proven long ago that changes enhance one’s life.
