The singer Bozhena Dar impresses with her strong voice and an active patriotic position. Being sixth months pregnant she went to Severodonetsk to sing for children and to support the defenders of Ukraine. Bozhena brings up her daughters, Taisia and Yaroslava, who are 1.5 years and 2 months old, respectively, according to her own conception, to make them strong, independent and self-confident personalities.
“A newborn child already understands how people feel about him/her – whether he/she is loved and what is required of him/her. I want my kids to be able to make their way, achieving their goals. Therefore, my elder daughter Taisia already has her own responsibilities - she helps to take care of her younger sister Yaroslava. My husband is a volunteer. Though he does not interfere in the girls’ affairs, she controls whether everything is ok. And we like such approach. With him I feel free and easy; I always know that he is close to me. We travel to the East of Ukraine to meet people together. I’m very happy that there, on the Russian-speaking territory, the Ukrainian song is welcomed so warmly and openly,” Bozhena said.
The singer considers that her social mission is to support women, especially women after giving birth: “a woman with a baby in her arms is the happiest one and at the same time the most vulnerable one. From my own experience I know how difficult it is to give strength and attention to my family, to my newborn daughter, and at the same time to keep on doing my work. Sometimes I cry when I hear news about dead soldiers, about children left without their parents. And I dream that this war will be over. Sometimes women really need to be strong, organized, determined, healthy, and at the same time to love and to be loved. This is what I sing about in my songs.”
“We met Bozhena in Prospekt shopping mall to talk about shopping. I found out that she prefers casual style, rational shopping, although she can make a spontaneous purchase, for example, to buy a bag she liked. Step by step the topic of the conversation changed to personal values, a vital core, a philosophy of upbringing, family relationships, a desire to share your energy with people and to give them songs which have a meaning and songs about love.
For me the variety of the topics discussed is a proof of an intellect and integrity of a person. Bozhena demonstrated that she is a modest girl, a responsible mother, a loving wife and a woman who has her own strong social position.
