Trendy men's hats at #ArtFashion: from the 20s to the 20s in Prospekt shopping mall
08-07-2020

Fashion trends that can be traced through art - paintings and photographs - at the exhibition #ArtFashion: from the 20s to the 20s in Prospekt shopping mall

Just a hundred years ago, most men had mustaches and always wore hats. If passers-by on the street could have been photographed from a drone, it would seem that only hats were moving along the streets.
There were many styles for men's hats, the most popular were turbans, straw canoes, wide and narrow cylinders, bowlers, high crowned hats and felt trilby caps.
A hat for its owner was a marker of status in the society, culture, demonstrated his personal preferences and aesthetic taste. The hats were intended for different occasions: for horseback riding, dancing parties, lunches, sports or horse racing.
Now the classic hats look very unusual. They add elegance and mystery to a man’s silhouette. The most actual today is a corduroy cap, which emphasizes the independence and ease of everyday style.
