Together with the Prospekt shopping mall we tell about Kyiv teachers: their life position, aspirations, working methods, and beliefs. Why? Because teachers are influencers who interact directly with the audience and do not depend on the algorithms of social networks and Zuckerberg's decisions. But if you can find out about the views (or lack thereof) of a popular blogger by googling his name, then teachers' lifestyle still needs to be studied. This mission was taken on by the authors of the educational and social project Teachers’ Self Upgrade, which motivates teachers to improve themselves and encourages society to reconsider their ideas about the profession of a teacher.  
Why in a shopping mall? Because the teacher's influence goes beyond the classroom and concerns not only knowledge, but also style and image. 
Our new heroine is multi-faceted  teacher of the school No. 300 - Yuliia Pashulia: she teaches lessons for the second grade, teaches English for sixth graders and computer science for ninth graders. 
My official teaching experience is 5 years, but I've been working with children since high school. When I attended a theater club in high school, at the request of the teacher I studied with younger students. Even then, I realized that there should be a place for creativity and humor in school, and not just for educational materials. The teacher should remember that they interact with real people, and build trusting relationships with them.  This approach gives students and teachers more opportunities: the first learn to listen to each other, and the second learn to express their emotions. 
It bothers me when they say: "A teacher is not a prestigious profession" or "Our education is bad." There are many such thoughts. Yes, there are enough incidents, but why not talk about positive changes? For example, about the reform of the NUSH (New Ukrainian School), thanks to which technical equipment has appeared in schools, and teachers do not have to take a queue in the computer science class for the only one smart-blackboard for the entire institution. Or, for example, about how the topic of online courses and offline events has expanded (for example, the Teachers' Self Upgrade conference in Prospekt shopping mall), which contributes to better training of personnel. Moreover, teachers are ready to learn and are not even limited to the 30 hours that the state requires for advanced training. 
As for me, the role of a teacher in the modern world is to be a coordinator, that is, to teach a child to learn. You won't be able to just teach ready-made knowledge as before: there is too much competition. But fortunately, as a teacher, I can directly observe the progress of a particular student and be happy that they are also happy about their development. Their desire for knowledge gives me strength and motivation.   
I am proud that every day I understand more and more people: children, their parents, colleagues. The development of empathy has a positive impact on the educational process. If at university I was worried about how I would solve difficult situations, now I am more confident in my abilities, because I know what to do and feel how best to respond.  
My students know that they can always negotiate with me. I'm in no hurry to give a D or a C if the student hasn't completed their homework or doesn't want to work in class. I find out what the reason is and look for solutions along with them.   
I'm a big fan of teamwork. First-graders, of course, can not be divided into groups, since the team is still being formed and not everyone knows how to choose roles. But with the second grade in this format, you can already work both in creative lessons and in the main ones. I come up with different tasks: tell a story, create an illustration, and come up with ads for the material we are studying. 
Modern children make decisions more easily than me and my peers in our teens. They do not force themselves to follow the chosen path despite everything and are ready to use another option without a doubt. Training as a programmer turned out to be too difficult and uninteresting? Well, I'll choose something else.
Modern teenagers recognize their right to make mistakes. I wouldn't mind if I, a sixteen-year-old, was also told: "Nothing terrible will happen if you make a mistake."
The students recognize me by my special gait and loose hair. Most often, you can see me in jeans: they are easier to wash after an art lesson with first-graders. There is no place in my life for uncomfortable shoes, because I have to move a lot, so heels are only for the holidays. 
In life, I value peace, but not the one that is close to passivity. Rather, it is a state that borders on confidence in what you are doing and for what purpose. That you, for example, clearly know what you want to learn and what opportunities you have for this. That to achieve the goal, you can do without dramas and losses.
