On May, 19 the thematic Day of embroidered shirt (Vyshyvanka Day) will be held at Prospekt shopping mall. The main idea is to give guests of the shopping mall an opportunity to demonstrate their colorful traditional Ukrainian clothing. A melodious performance of a bandura trio will be also held. Children will have a chance to take part in master classes for creating protective amulets and painting wooden toys or to try the technique of Petrykivka painting.

Geometric ornaments, floral patterns and plot lines are the components of the art of fashion and style created by Ukrainian women for their daughters, husbands and grandchildren. By the way, the writer Ivan Franko was the first who told about Ukrainian style of embroidery. It was he who combined a European costume with a vyshyvanka.

Today vyshyvanka is not only just stylish and comfortable clothing. It is universal clothing which may be worn with jeans, a holiday tunic or a light skirt. A man wearing vysyvanka always has a special charm.

In Prospekt shopping mall especially for Vyshyvanka Day a photo zone for selfie will be installed. And even a robot will be dressed in a national costume with a chaplet.
