How did fashion changed in the last 100 years? How did men's suits and women's dresses changed? Why earlier it was impossible to go outside without a hat and what is the hat fashion now? What retro toys bring us back to childhood? The exhibition “ArtFashion: from the 20s to the 20s” was opened in “Prospekt” shopping mall.
Paintings from European museums, photographs of Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra next to the products of Ukrainian brands demonstrate the development of fashion during the last hundred years. The online magazine “Weekend” visited the opening of the exhibition and recorded 10 quotes from guests, participants and organizers.

Vladyslav Sikalov, a culturologist and journalist, was the first who shared his impressions of the exhibition:

- I respect the symbiosis of fashion and art, because fashion makes art relevant, and art makes fashion less frivolous. Preparing the exhibition, I learnt with a great interest that in the world shopping malls the presence of art objects is necessarily.
The exhibition “ArtFashion: from the 20s to the 20s” presents eight stands on various topics. They are dedicated to the history of dresses, suits, shoes, hats, bags and toys. To illustrate the centuries-old development of fashion in these areas, I selected 25 paintings and 24 photographs. Of course, the emotions and feelings that these works bring were important.
World museums and galleries have free digital libraries where one can get materials for such projects. Here are paintings and photographs from the collections of the National Museum of Madrid, the National Academy of Arts of Washington, the museums of Brooklyn, Chicago, Montreal, as well as from private collections and funds.
At the exhibition you will see bold and unusual images that are not popular in the Internet. They reflect different tools, techniques and eras. The combination of painting and photography is also not accidental, because in the recent years, photography has come to the forefront of art.
