The trend now is not to receive gifts, but to offer friends to transfer money to a charity fund. On this principle, Weekend spent its third Birthday with socially passionate people who shared their actions in order to attract attention and possibly pass on the relay of kindness to others.

«In 2015, my friends and I organized blood donation campaigns. Even large companies were attracted, where many employees could participate at once. And at some point I thought: why are we attracting others and not participating by ourselves? This is how I met a wonderful man, a doctor at the burn center on Popudrenka Street, Oleh Vasyliovych Shchyryi. Thanks to him, I donated blood for the first time.
Why is this cool to do? There are several reasons for this: your body is being renewed and you are helping others with almost doing nothing. You understand, no matter how scientific progress has developed, the existing artificial blood substitute has not been invented yet. It’s cool to know that each of us has such a value that we can share with others.
Unfortunately, people usually encounter this problem when something happens: for example, a loved one is ill and in need of help. Then they learn that blood is almost always lacking. It’s better to never encounter with this and do what is up to you: donate blood every two months and know that it can save someone’s life.
My friend has recently been looking for the AB positive group of blood. This is a very rare blood, and my friend was not “hip” at all. Then I hooked into and started looking among my friends. That’s how we found several people willing to help. We didn’t even know who this blood was for. And when they donated it, it turned out that a well-known person who has done a great deal for the cultural life of our country needed this help.»
