Probably, each of us has a beloved thing - something that you have been wearing for years which is associated with memories and is covered with pills, which is so comfortable that you do not want to throw it away. The Weekend asked the visitors of Prospekt shopping mall about such things and recorded five most interesting stories.

Alla works in the field of commerce and likes shopping. She remembers times when people looked dull and grey wearing the same ugly clothes. It's good that now everything is different: to feel happy you just need to go shopping and to buy some new clothes for yourself. Today she acted this way: her packages are filled with new clothes and shoes for the autumn. New clothes always bring her pleasure, but there are special things that we remember for a long time. For Alla an unusual jacket has become this sort of thing, she has even got a school nickname associated with it.

“When I was a girl and the Soviet Union still existed, I had a favorite jacket - my brother’s present. It was a high quality, warm and soft jacket. Then everyone wore the same clothing - gray and dull, we couldn't buy good clothing. It was necessary, as they said then, to “get” clothes. But it was not always easy. Once my elder brother went on business-trip to the Baltics, where the situation was much better and brought me a demi-season multicolored jacket. It had such a bright color! Wearing that striped colored jacket I attracted attention of people on the streets. At school I was nicknamed “a small water-melon” because of the stripes on the jacket.
I liked the jacket so much, that I couldn’t get rid of it, even after I stopped wearing it, I could not give it to anyone. She hung in my closet for a very long time. I did not like the Soviet school uniform for the same reasons: everybody had to wear the same clothes - boring, uncomfortable and ugly. Once we managed to buy a beautiful unusual uniform. I was in love with it. After I stopped wearing it, I also kept it in my wardrobe for a long time and admired.
